Meet our wonderful teachers and staff members!
Kathy began her training at a well-known competitive area dance studio. As well as teaching, she is currently celebrating 20 years as a studio owner with her business partner and friend, Randee. She looks forward to teaching and instilling the love of dance. Bringing the joy of movement to young and old is a priority. Kathy continues to be inspired by her family and staff, as well as the dancers in front of her each day.
Kathy teaches many of our Ballet/Tap/Jazz combination classes, as well as Adult Tap and Senior Tap.
Randee has enjoyed the art and privilege of teaching dance to all ages. American Stars of Dance, Inc. is the dream of Kathy and Randee to teach and enjoy students as they grow in their talent. She believes that dance builds self-confidence and character, both skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.
Jaime took her very first dance class when she was nine years old. Miss Kathy was her teacher and it was in the Lake Villa studio. She instantly fell in love with dancing and hasn't stopped since. During her grade school and high school years, Jaime competed dance nationally in Tap, Ballet, Jazz, Lyrical, Acro and Poms. Jaime was also a gymnast for 10 years and trained at the Gymnastics Spot. She was a member on both the 1992 & 1993 State High School gymnastics teams at Carmel High School. At Carmel, Jaime danced in the Street Scenes performances alongside Becky De Rosa. Jaime graduated college from University of Illinois - Champaign with a degree in Finance and then received her MBA from North Park University in 2008. She currently works full time as the Lease Administration manager at LaSalle Solutions in Rosemont. Jaime has been teaching at American Stars since 2010. Her favorite part of teaching is sharing her passion for dance with her students. She looks forward to another amazing year at the studio!

Becky De Rosa
Becky De Rosa has been dancing 37 years and teaching almost 20. Over the years her classes have also included creative movement, jazz, tap and tumbling. She has a graduate degree from Columbia College in dance/movement therapy and a graduate certificate in Laban Movement Analysis and enjoys incorporating this work and her study of restorative movement into her dance and yoga classes. In recent years she has been performing with the Prairie Spirits Dance Troupe at the College of Lake County and invites you to join her on stage because all performances are open to the members of the community!
Becky teaches our Adaptive, Yoga, Advanced Ballet and Pointe classes.
Lindsay has been dancing since the age of 3 and it is a true passion of hers. Lindsay also currently teaches Computer Science at Big Hollow Middle School in Ingleside, IL. She graduated from UW-Whitewater in 2012 with a Business Education degree and a Dance Education minor. This is Lindsay's first year teaching at American Stars and she is very excited to be part of the American Stars family.
Lindsay teaches some of our Pre-Ballet/Tap and Beginner Ballet/Tap classes.
Amy has been teaching at American Stars for 2.5 years now. She loves to watch the little ones happily interact with one another while learning new dance and movement skills. When she is not at American Stars (either teaching her class or watching her daughters dance) she takes care of children in her home. She enjoys hanging out with her family, reading and relaxing at Starbucks, and traveling to Nashville to visit her brother and his family throughout the year.

Dancing has been a passion of hers ever since Kayla was very little. She is so happy to be able to share her knowledge and love for dance with all her students.
Kayla teaches our Hip Hop classes.
Holly began her dance training studying with Gus Giordano in Evanston. She attended the University of Illinois where she received a B.F.A. in Dance with a specialization in Technical Theater. She then went on to work for the Candlelight Theater in Summit, Illinois and also taught dance for the Morton Grove, Niles and Skokie Park Districts. She has been teaching preschool for the last 26 yrs and dance for the last 10 yrs for the Vernon Hills Park District and has been with American Stars of Dance for the last 8 yrs. She feels very proud and appreciative to be a part of two such wonderful programs.
Sarah has been dancing with American Stars since the age of 3. She danced for two years on her high school dance team and continued to dance throughout college. She graduated from Carthage College in 2018 with a degree in Business Management and Finance. Dance is her true passion and she is excited to help her students discover their own passion for dance. This is Sarah’s first year teaching at American Stars.
Sarah teaches our Beginner Ballet class, as well as working in the office.
Tonya began her dance journey at the age of 6 as a student at American Stars. She danced at the studio for over 10 years. She also danced on her high school dance team for 3 years, did one year on her college dance team, and some small shows with her college sorority. She graduated in December 2016 with a B.S. degree in dietetics from Western Illinois University. Dancing has always been a big part of her life and she still finds herself dancing in her kitchen. This is Tonya’s first year teaching at American Stars and she is very excited to be teaching at the studio.

Lara Bell is an Actress, Singer-Songwriter, Dance Teacher, Musical Theatre Instructor, and Choreographer from Johnsburg, IL. She is an almost 22 year old graduate from McHenry County College with an Associate’s degree focusing on music and theatre. She has been teaching for 7 years, and she has studied in the styles of ballet, pre-point, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, poms, and musical theatre with many dance studios and companies. Bell has taught with studios such as Johnsburg Dance Academy, FireHouse Gym, and now American Stars of Dance. Her classes have specialized in ballet, pre-pointe, tap, and musical theatre, with ages ranging from 3-13. Apart from teaching, she is an accomplished triple threat performer. She has lived onstage (her second home) in all aspects of the arts since she was 5 years old. She enjoys teaching the younger generation all about the performing arts, and instilling the passion she has for the artwork into their hearts. She is happy to have found American Stars of Dance through her old teacher and boss, Ashley Gallina, and thanks Kathy Pierce for adding her to the esteemed team of teachers!

Jennifer is our office manager and has been with American Stars for 16 years. In addition to running the office, she also helps run the backstage during recitals.
Kay works in our office, as well as help backstage during recitals. She has been with American Stars for 4 years.
Don works in the office, as well as running the music and sound for recitals.
