We offer a variety of classes for all age groups.  From pre-school through adult, we have the class that's right for you.

Summer Sessions 2008 (1 Hour for 3 Consecutive Days)

Parent 'n Tot (45 minutes)

This class includes play-acting, obstacle courses, and creative movement as well as stretching.  This class gives children a structured play experience away from home with other children of the same age.  Parents should plan to participate in class with their child.  This class is offered in either 6 or 8 week sessions.  Ages 18 months - 3 years.

 

Boogie Babies (45 minutes)

The next step up from Parent 'n Tot.  This class introduces your toddler to the independence of a dance class as parents sit in and watch.  Basic dance steps are introduced as well as working on coordination and with props of all kinds.  Ages 2 & 3 years.

 

Combination Class (1 hour)

An introduction to the world of dance (must be 3 years by September 1st).  Classes introduce children to movement, music, and rhythm, as well as body discipline and awareness.  The classes are designed to develop appropriate skills for the particular age group.  Emphasis is placed on fun and the development of positive self-esteem as the child enters one of their earliest classroom situations.  Jazz and Tap will be introduced at the teacher's discretion.  Ages 3 years & up.

 

Combination Class - Intermediate (1½ hours)

At this level, the students will expand their knowledge of steps and exercises as they become more complex.  There is less repetition within the framework of the steps and tempos increase.  Reinforcement of proper technique and body placement is continued.

 

Jazz (1 hour)

Jazz warm-ups and choreography are taught to popular music that's fun and easy to rhythmically follow, while learning correct jazz technique and jazz steps.  Ages 8 years & up.

 

Hip Hop - Beginner and Intermediate (1 hour)

This class focuses on the basics of Hip Hop dance - body rolls, turns, slides, and footwork. In addition to technique, choreography mixing the elements above is taught in a fun, easy-learning, no-pressure environment.  Ages 9 years & up.

 

Adult Dance - Beginner thru Advanced

If you were unable to take dance lessons as a child, now's your chance.  Maybe you have had five or ten years off and would like a refresher course.  Build strength as well as skill in our basic dance class or expand your current skills in our advanced class.

 

Senior Tap - Beginner and Intermediate (45 minutes)

Basic tap steps are taught in this fun, low impact tap class.  Ages 55 & up.

 

Pom-Pons - Beginner thru Advanced (1 hour)

This class is an introduction to the essential requirements associated with pom-pons.  Emphasis is placed on proper technique of precise movements, splits, and kicks as well as basic jazz footwork.  Class placement is by age and ability.  Ages 7 years & up.

 

Ballet - Beginner and Intermediate (1 hour)

Do you to watch The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, and Sleeping Beauty?  Ballet improves grace, coordination, and confidence.  Learn ballet technique and strive to one day dance in Pointe shoes.

 

Pointe (½ hour)

Pointe class enables the ballet dancer to bring grace and techniques ability to a higher level.  Permission to attend Pointe class will be given by the instructor and depends on the student's strength and quality of technique.

 

Just the Boys - Two Levels (1 hour)

Tap and Tumbling.  A fun dance class for boys only geared to the types of moves and music that boys enjoy.  Helps build self-confidence, improve coordination, agility, and strength.

 

Ballroom - Beginner and Intermediate

Ballroom, Salsa, Latin, Swing, Fox Trot, and more!  Classes are offered in 4 and 6 week sessions.

 

Workshops and Special Classes

Throughout the dance year, we will offer special classes and workshops.  These will be taught by our current staff, as well as guest instructors.  These workshops are a great way to experience a new skill or learn a different technique to a skill you already know.
